Black Friday 2026 is November 27. This page gets updated with live deals that morning. Until then, it’s a buying guide: what’s worth owning in each category, and which items discount often enough to be worth waiting for.

Most Black Friday roundups are a wall of discounted products with no opinion attached. The problem is that a bad chair at 40 percent off is still a bad chair, and the thing you actually need might not go on sale at all.

So this page is built the other way around. Every pick below is something worth owning at full price, pulled from guides where we compared it against the alternatives. When the deals land on November 27, you’ll already know which one you want.

We don’t list prices here. They change constantly, and a page full of stale numbers helps nobody. Every link goes to the current Amazon listing.

What actually discounts

Nobody can tell you in advance exactly what Amazon will put on sale. What you can do is pay attention to which categories move often.

Discount frequently, often outside sale events:

  • Logitech mice and keyboards. The Lift, MX Vertical, MX Master, and MX Keys lines all cycle through markdowns regularly, sometimes several times a quarter.
  • Anker chargers and power strips. One of the most consistently discounted brands in this whole space.
  • Sony headphones, especially the outgoing flagship once a new model lands.
  • Budget monitors and monitor accessories.

Discount rarely, if at all:

  • Steelcase and other premium office chairs. These move a little, not a lot.
  • Apple peripherals.
  • Newly released flagship products in their first few months.

The practical takeaway: if you want something from the first list, waiting until the 27th is reasonable. If you want something from the second list, the discount probably isn’t coming, and buying when you need it costs you little.

Office chairs

A chair is the single piece of a home office you feel every day, and it’s where most people under-spend. It’s also the category where Black Friday pricing varies most, because the premium brands discount far less than the budget ones.

If your budget is tight: our best office chair under $200 guide covers five chairs that all have adjustable lumbar support and tested gas lifts, including picks sized for tall users and higher weight capacities.

If you can spend more: the best ergonomic office chair under $400 guide covers the range where build quality steps up noticeably.

If you’re buying a chair to keep for a decade: our Steelcase Think vs Leap comparison and Steelcase Leap vs Series 1 comparison cover the two decisions people actually face in that tier. Be realistic about discounts here, since Steelcase rarely moves much.

Cheaper than a new chair: if your current chair is structurally fine but uncomfortable, a cushion often solves it. Our best seat cushions guide covers that, and a chair mat fixes rolling problems on carpet.

Desks and standing desks

Standing desks are one of the better Black Friday categories, because the frames are expensive enough that a percentage discount is real money. Our best budget standing desks guide covers the affordable end and the full standing desk guide covers the rest.

Regular desks are covered in our best home office desks guide, from compact desks for small rooms through L-shaped and executive options.

Already have a desk you like? A walking pad is the upgrade that changes how your day feels most, and our WalkingPad vs GoPlus comparison covers the choice between a dedicated pad and a 2-in-1 treadmill.

Before you buy any desk, run your measurements through our free standing desk height calculator. Getting the height wrong is the most common and most expensive desk mistake.

Monitors

Monitors discount reliably, and they’re one of the few categories where Black Friday pricing genuinely beats the rest of the year.

The first decision isn’t which monitor, it’s how many. Our ultrawide vs dual monitors comparison covers whether one wide screen or two separate ones fits how you work, including the screen sharing difference that matters if you’re on calls.

For individual picks, our best budget monitors guide covers standard, curved, ultrawide, and 4K options.

Going dual: the best dual monitor setup guide covers the full setup, and how to set up dual monitors walks through the wiring and configuration.

Don’t forget the mounting. A monitor at the wrong height costs you more than a slightly better panel. Our best monitor arm guide and best monitor stand guide both cover that, and arms discount well.

Mice and keyboards

This is the category most worth waiting for. Logitech discounts its peripherals constantly, and the markdowns during sale events are usually the deepest of the year.

If your wrist bothers you, start with a vertical mouse. Our Logitech Lift vs MX Vertical comparison covers the size decision, which is the whole decision, and includes the left-handed option. If your wrist is fine and you want features instead, our MX Master 4 vs MX Master 3S comparison covers Logitech’s flagship, and MX Master 3S vs MX Vertical covers choosing between comfort and capability.

For the full range across hand sizes and budgets, see our best ergonomic mouse guide.

On keyboards, our MX Keys vs MX Keys S comparison covers the two premium Logitech options and why the gap between them is smaller than it looks. If typing comfort is the real problem, the best ergonomic keyboard guide covers split and wave layouts. On a tight budget, our Logitech K270 review covers the most popular budget option.

Buying both together? The best wireless keyboards and mice guide covers combos, which often discount as a bundle.

Headphones and microphones

Sony and Bose both discount during sale events, and the outgoing flagship usually drops furthest.

Noise cancelling headphones: our Sony XM5 vs XM6 comparison covers what actually changed between generations, which matters because the older model is where the discount usually lands. Comparing brands, our Bose QC Ultra vs Sony XM6 comparison covers which wins on microphone quality, and our Bose QuietComfort Ultra review goes deeper on that pair.

For every budget, the best noise cancelling headphones guide covers over-ear, earbuds, and work headsets with boom mics.

Microphones: if people struggle to hear you on calls, a dedicated USB mic does more than better headphones will. Our Blue Yeti vs Rode NT-USB Mini comparison covers the two most common picks.

Webcams and lighting

Webcams: our best webcam for Zoom guide covers the practical options, best webcams for remote work covers the full range, and our Logitech C920 vs C922 and Elgato Facecam vs Logitech Brio comparisons cover the two decisions people get stuck on.

Lighting matters more than the camera. A good webcam in bad light looks worse than a basic one in good light. Our video call setup guide explains why and covers the free fixes first.

For the lighting itself, our best monitor light bars guide, best desk lamp guide, and home office lighting ideas cover the options.

Desk accessories

The small stuff adds up, and it’s where Black Friday is genuinely good value because the items are cheap enough to buy several.

How to shop it

Decide before the day, not during it. The reason people overspend on Black Friday is that they shop by discount instead of by need. Work out what’s actually missing from your setup now, while nothing is on sale and you can think clearly.

Set a budget and work down a list. Our free home office budget calculator splits a total across categories so you can see what a realistic setup costs before you start buying.

Fix the ergonomics first. If your monitor is below eye level or your chair has no lumbar support, those cost you every day. A faster mouse doesn’t. Our ergonomic home office guide covers the order to fix things in.

Check the price history. Browser extensions that track Amazon pricing will show you whether a “deal” is actually below the usual price or just below an inflated list price. This is the single most useful habit for sale events.

Don’t buy a worse product because it’s cheaper. A discounted chair with a plastic base that cracks in a year isn’t a saving. Every pick linked above was chosen on merit first.

Frequently asked questions

When is Black Friday 2026?

November 27, 2026. Amazon usually starts discounting several days early and runs deals through Cyber Monday, which falls on November 30.

What home office items discount most on Black Friday?

Peripherals and accessories tend to move most: Logitech mice and keyboards, Anker chargers and power strips, Sony headphones, monitors, and monitor arms. Premium office chairs from brands like Steelcase discount the least.

Should I wait for Black Friday to buy an office chair?

It depends on the tier. Budget and mid-range chairs discount reasonably often. Premium chairs barely move, so if you need one now, waiting six weeks for a small discount probably isn’t worth the daily discomfort.

Is Black Friday better than Prime Day for home office gear?

Generally yes on selection, since more brands and retailers participate. Prime Day tends to be better specifically for Amazon’s own devices and brands.

How do I know a Black Friday price is actually a good deal?

Check the price history rather than the advertised discount. A percentage off an inflated list price isn’t a saving. Several free browser extensions track Amazon pricing over time and show you whether the current price is genuinely low.

What should I buy first if I’m setting up from scratch?

Chair, then monitor height, then everything else. Those two affect how you feel at the end of a workday more than anything else on this page. Our how to set up a home office guide covers the full order.

Prices change constantly. Check current pricing at checkout. This page is updated with live deals on November 27.
